Tournament.
George Davis chipped in 10 and both Tavaris Washington and Lebaron Weathers
added 8 for the Golden Lions (15-15), who have won nine of their last 10.
UAPB will face the winner of Alabama State/Alabama A&M in the semifinals on
Friday.
D'Angelo Jackson led all scorers with 24 points for the Delta Devils (9-23),
who lost four of five to end the season.
Miss. Valley State cut the Golden Lions' lead to two on two Kevin Burwell free
throws with seven seconds to play. Weathers then drained 1-of-2 foul shots to
extend the lead to 69-66 with six seconds left. Burwell attempted a shot from
beyond the arc with three seconds left, but was off the mark.
UAPB led by three at the break and led by as many as six in the period at
12-6. The Lions stretched the margin to a game-high 13 twice, the last time
coming with 8:30 left as Savalance Townsend converted a three-point play.
